Grace and Glamour
Grace’n’Glamour presented top Czech fashion again
Saturday, December 1, 2012, saw this year’s second luxury fashion event Grace’n’Glamour. Halls of Mandarin Oriental Prague hotel were populated by latest collections of top Czech and Slovak fashion designers and jewellers and thanks to them the halls were turned into a very fashionable pop up store. Particularity of the event was underlined by the presence of charming Chantal Poullain and charismatic Jan Čenský, who talked with visitors, and not just about fashion.
Among twenty designers and jewellers were again names promising of real quality and original ideas. Fascinating models from collections of Hana Havelková, Kateřina Geislerová, Pavel Ivančic, Iveta Pecuchová, Pavel Brejcha, designer duo Emilie Swider and Ricardo Torini, Natálie Steklová and others gained many new admirers. Jewels from Hana Pokorná, Lubor Baum or Michal Kadaník represented some pieces of real art. Truly original design and perfect craftsmanship came from Kateřina Čadová and Jolana Kotábová with their hand-made model hats.
The jury was again given a demanding task. During their long and lively debates, the jury members Jan Čenský, Elle.cz chief editor Lucie Kochová, Marianne.cz chief editor Zuzana Hošková, Ona Dnes magazine fashion editor Lenka Poláčková and Instyle magazine fashion editor Martin Váša elected the winners in categories of fashion, accessories and jewels.
The most appreciation from the jurors in the category of fashion designers gained Kateřina Geislerová, whose winter 2012 prêt-à-porter collection was inspired by French fashion of 1940’s. In the category of accessories, the winner was again Eva Vontorová and her brand ETHER. Of all jewellers, the most attention had Lubor Baum, who works not only with precious metals, but also with non-traditional materials.
